Deep Inside is the latest in ESP’s monthly series of parties in Taipei. With the hugely successful Citrus event entering its third year and ever-popular Connect entering year two, Saucey yearned for the close-knit vibe and relaxed atmosphere found in his hometown of Victoria. An intimate venue with a solid sound-system were essential, and the newly renovated Eden in Taipei would serve as the perfect foundation for Deep Inside, a monthly free party featuring two of Taipei’s best DJs playing long sets to a roomful of good friends, with the DJ booth set up right beside the dance floor to help create a real close vibe. Long a champion of the Dubby, Funky, West Coast sound in Canada, Saucey had been slipping it into his sets now and then in Taiwan to test the waters. So far the response had been good, so it was time for a full-blown Deep House party. He again enlisted the skills of long time friend and partner DJ SL (Shiuan Liu), and Taiwan’s first Deep House night was born.
