The Connect crew has been promoting events at Luxy and 2nd Floor for over 2 years, and have established themselves as some of the front-runners in Taipei’s Electronic Music Scene.

Having known each other in Canada and performing with one another for a long time, Ryan Trix, Dj Coffey and Saucey have developed a sound that fuses breaks, house and electro together into a seamless interaction of energy. The sound focuses on the darker, dirtier side of these genres and as a result, Connect parties are renowned for their ability to pack the party and keep them moving until the lights come up.

The members all hail from the West Coast of Canada where they honed their sound on a fat diet of Breaks and House. They are called the Connect crew because of their uncanny ability to play together, each maintaining their distinct flavour yet managing to “Connect” an overall underlying theme or sound throughout the night. Usually resulting in thick dirty basslines and hard hitting beats.

June 2004 saw Saucey, E.S.P. and the Connect crew is association with The Loop break new ground in Taiwan and Asia’s music scene by inviting Chicago House godfather Derrick Carter to perfom at Luxy. The show was very well received and paved the ground for future similar acts to come to Taiwan.

“Connect” released to high acclaim in Feb. 04, is an example of the fusion of sounds and styles the three Connect members are renowned for. Starting with Saucey’s WestCoast Dub Tech-House the mix builds and slowly chugs along, smoothly flowing into Coffey’s keen mixing and slightly NuSkool breaks, finally the whole mix is dished out and served just right by Trix’s finely tuned Electro House.
