Citrus is more than the name of a party, it is the name of a following. Nearly into its third year now, Citrus is the party that has triggered the current trend of music predominantly heard in Taiwan’s clubs today. With international guests such as Hipp-e, Steve Mac, DJ Dan, Joel Lai, Dave Benz and Johnny Fiasco backed by two of Taipei’s hottest residents, Citrus continues to broaden the sounds in Taipei’s club scene.

Last Friday’s Citrus party at Luxy was a killer night out, and had me up and dancing all night long. Props to Djs Saucey and SL for their continued efforts to improve the house scene here.

Citrus parties have always been fun, because the music's always good and the crowd's… interesting.

The Lotus Room's lineup was handled by Bliss Productions with yet another installment of their Citrus Party events, which was again a nice tip-of-the-hat to some local promoters who have been doing some solid work. Chief among them was Saucey, who had me shaking booty from end to end and grinning from ear to ear. He's a very good DJ and played a killer set that really had everybody talking. The Luxy grand-opening was definitely one of the best nights of the year thus far.
